If you are interested in being involved, volunteering and fostering are great ways to help animals in your community. Both are flexible and can fit within your schedule and abilities. Please complete the application(s) below or send an email to westerplainsanimalrefuge@gmail.com for more information on how you can help.

Volunteer  |  Foster

Volunteering includes a variety of activities that range from working directly with animals to organizing fundraisers. If you are younger than 18, you must have the written approval of a parent or legal guardian.

Until our animals can find forever homes, they need to be placed in foster homes where they can receive appropriate care and socialization. Fostering is a great way to help animals in need even in the comfort of your own home. We realize just like every animal is unique, so is every foster home, and we strive to match animals with appropriate foster homes.

The process is easy and begins with the application below. Once you complete the application, we will contact you for a home visit. If approved, you just need to pay $10 for your Kansas Department of Animal Health foster license.

Once you get your license, we will contact you whenever we have animals who needs match with your abilities. If you are able to take them, they will live with you few weeks or months until a suitable forever home can be found. During this time, we will provide all veterinary care, food, and whatever resources you will need.
